Wolsingham School and Community College, situated in picturesque Weardale, has a long and proud history. Established in 1614, our school has its roots in the communities it serves. We are a good and successful school and are proud of our specialist status as a Performing Arts College (Drama and Dance), with a Rural Dimension. It is our aim to pursue the highest academic standards through a broad curriculum and through a supportive pastoral care and house system. We strive to ensure that every student realises his or her Star Potential.

Diary for academic year

We warmly invite parents and prospective students to visit us to see our school at work at any time which is convenient. Our specialist status as a Performing Arts College and our Sports Hall mean that we can provide additional resources to raise achievement, to support learning and to make a difference to every one of our students. Pastoral Care is a strength of the school and our students flourish in a secure and caring environment. Each Tutor Group comprises students with a wide range of abilities, aptitudes and interests. The Learning Manager is the key person who will, in most cases, be responsible for the welfare of each of their students during the journey through school for the next five years.
